Terms of Use

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

These Terms govern your use of cardhoondo.com and related pages and tools (the "Service"), run by Aakash Tayal, an individual operating under the name CarDhoondo (not yet a registered company), Gurugram, Haryana, India ("CarDhoondo", "we", "us"). Our contact details are in Section 17.

How you agree. You agree to these Terms by pressing "Agree and continue" on the first screen of the questionnaire, or by continuing to use the Service after being able to read them (there is a link in the footer). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms are separate from our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we handle and why. Agreeing to these Terms is not, by itself, consent to how we use your personal data; that consent is given separately, as the Privacy Policy explains.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. The Service is for personal, non-commercial use. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to use it.

3. What the Service does

You answer questions about how you drive and what matters to you. We compute a shortlist of cars, show the review evidence behind it, and optionally estimate on-road prices for your city.

It is informational and automated. Results come from a computation over third-party sources: published owner and expert reviews (which are opinions), and car specification and price data compiled from publicly available listings. A short written summary may be produced with the help of an AI model from those computed results. Reviews are opinions; specifications and prices change and vary by city, dealer, variant and date.

4. No advice, no guarantee

• Recommendations, summaries and price estimates are not professional, financial, insurance, legal or safety advice and are not an offer to sell anything.
• We do not guarantee that they are complete, current or error-free, or that a recommended car suits you. Check price, specifications, features, warranty, availability and finance or insurance terms with the seller, and test-drive before you buy.
• On-road price tool: figures are estimates compiled from public listings or state-level rates, labelled as scraped or estimated. They are not a quotation from any dealer or manufacturer and may differ from what you are actually charged.
• Where we lack enough review data for a car, we say so. A car's absence from your shortlist does not mean it is a bad car.
• AI-assisted text is checked against the computed results but may still contain mistakes. The computed facts and quotes are what count.

5. Sources, third-party content and brand names

• Review excerpts and specifications belong to their owners and are shown for review and criticism, with their source. They express the reviewers' views, not ours.
• Car makers' and other brand names, model names and logos belong to their respective owners. We use them only to identify the products discussed. CarDhoondo is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any car maker, dealer, review channel, forum or listing site.
• If you own content shown on the Service and want it corrected or removed, email mycardhoondo@gmail.com with the link or screen, what should change, and your relationship to the content. We review requests promptly and aim to respond within 7 days.

6. Independence

As of the date above, we do not accept payment or any other benefit from car dealers or car manufacturers to influence which cars we recommend, whether a car is included in your shortlist, or how it is ranked. Rankings are computed from your answers and published review evidence.

If our business model changes (for example clearly labelled paid introductions to lenders, insurers or car makers that you choose to request), then:

1. we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy and tell users before any such arrangement starts;
2. any such introduction will be optional and marked, for example "Paid introduction: we may earn a fee", and shown after and separate from your recommendation;
3. a fee will never influence which cars we recommend, whether a car is shortlisted, its rank, or the written summary; and
4. we will not share your personal data with any such company without your separate, specific consent (see the Privacy Policy, Sections 6 and 7).

Nothing in this section is a promise about future products; it is the standard we will hold ourselves to if we launch them.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts or automated tools to submit searches, answers or requests, or to scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service or its data (the Service has rate limits and we may block abusive traffic);
• try to gain unauthorised access, probe or disrupt our systems, or get around security or rate limits;
• copy, resell or republish our recommendations, scores or data compilation commercially without written permission;
• submit unlawful or misleading content, or another person's personal data (including someone else's mobile number) without their permission;
• use the Service to build a competing product from our outputs.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, scoring method and our compilation of data are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service. Source excerpts and brand names remain their owners' property (Section 5).

9. Your feedback

Feedback and comments you submit may be used by us to improve the Service. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use them for that purpose, and you confirm you may share them. Please do not include personal details in comments. We won't publish your name or contact details with your feedback.

10. Contact and follow-up

We may contact you by call, WhatsApp or SMS on the number you gave, about your recommendations and to ask for your feedback. We do not use your number for marketing. Ask us to stop at any time by replying "STOP" or emailing mycardhoondo@gmail.com. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party sites and services

The Service may link to or depend on third parties (for example maps or listing sites). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

12. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop any feature. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" and we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free access.

13. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows: (a) we do not give any warranty that the Service is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose; (b) we are not liable for purchase, financial or other decisions you make using the Service, or for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit or data; and (c) our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to Rs 1,000.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer or as a data principal under Indian law.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and your rights. It is a separate document; accepting these Terms is not consent to any data use beyond what the Privacy Policy describes.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with its date and version number and, for material changes (including any change to Section 6), tell you in advance where we hold your contact details. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you accept the changes; if you disagree, stop using it and ask us to delete your data.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your non-waivable rights as a consumer to bring a claim in the forum where you live or work, the courts at Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction over disputes about the Service. Please email us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

17. Grievance Officer and contact

18. General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues. Our not enforcing a right at some point is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are our whole agreement about the Service. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor, on notice to you. Neither of us is liable for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control. If there is any difference between the English and a translated version, the English version prevails, except where the law gives you the right to rely on the translation.
